VEGAN DHA

500 mg Omega-3 DHA from Algae, Odourless and Plant-Based

Expertly formulated. Carefully selected. Trusted by Emma Ellice-Flint.

Vegan DHA provides 500 mg of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and 8 mg of EPA in two capsules, from algal oil made from marine algae (Schizochytrium sp.). The capsule shell is plant-based, so it is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision. EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart.

Selected by Nutritionist Emma Ellice-Flint for the Emma’s Nutrition range because it provides a meaningful amount of DHA without fish, Vegan DHA reflects the high standards she looks for when recommending supplements in clinic.

Why Choose Vegan DHA?

  • ✔ 500 mg DHA per two capsules (250 mg per capsule)

  • ✔ One or two capsules a day, with food
  • ✔ Suitable from 9 years of age (see directions)
  • ✔ Suitable for vegans and vegetarians
  • ✔ Made in Britain

Selected by Emma

Nutritionist Emma Ellice-Flint has recommended nutritional supplements throughout her clinical career and believes that quality, evidence and transparency should underpin every recommendation.

Every product in the Emma’s Nutrition range has been carefully evaluated before being included. Vegan DHA was selected because it gives vegans, vegetarians and anyone who prefers not to take fish oil a clearly declared amount of DHA from a plant-based source.

Why This Formulation

Vegan DHA uses algal oil, protected with natural antioxidants (rosemary extract, vitamin E and ascorbyl palmitate), in a plant-based capsule. Each ingredient has been selected with purpose, drawing on the available evidence and Emma’s commitment to quality, evidence and transparency.

Prefer fish oil, or want vitamin D3 as well? See our Fish Oil & Vitamin D3.

DHA From Algae: Straight From the Source

Fish do not make DHA themselves. They get it from the algae at the base of the marine food chain. Vegan DHA takes its omega-3 directly from marine algae, so no fish are needed.

How Much DHA Do You Need?

The beneficial effects of DHA on normal brain function and normal vision are obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg DHA. The beneficial effect of EPA and DHA on normal heart function is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg EPA and DHA.

Each Vegan DHA capsule provides 250 mg of DHA, so one capsule a day meets these amounts and two capsules provide twice as much.

Know exactly how much DHA you’re getting. Just honest labelling.
